The Miss Asia Pacific Quest, Inc. (MAPQI)
which owns Miss Asia Pacific International and Mutya
ng Pilipinas (the National Pageant) is now on its 36th
year. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization based
in the Philippines with the principal purpose of promoting
peace, goodwill, trade and tourism among participating nations from different continents.
The National Pageant -- Known as the “Mutya
ng Pilipinas”, it conducts a yearly nationwide
search for its national pageant. The pageant is participated
by representatives and/or candidates from overseas
Philippine communities which include the United Kingdom,
Canada, mainland United States of America, and Hawaii.
In the years 1977 to 1991, Miss Asia Pacific Quest,
Inc. (MAPQI) was the franchise holder for the Miss
World Beauty Pageant sending candidates to the International
Pageant in London.
MISS ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL is strongly supported
by major partners and alliances including one of the
respected Television Networks in Southeast Asia.
Today, MISS ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL is considered
as the first and the oldest International beauty pageant
in Asia. |
